AZWeekly Write Up I was really excited when the AZWeekly asked me to do a write up on
'alternative music venues' and local bands. I was really bummed when I
didn't see my write up in this week's issue. I worked pretty hard and
fast to get the article put together, edited, approved by all involved,
and off to the AZWeekly before the deadline date and since it would
have been a great promo opportunity for us and The Downtown Dramatics,
I figured, what the fuck, I'll post it as a blog on our myspace. Who
knows, maybe it'll get me a job writing for Heavy Metal Magazine or
something (is that magazine still around?). Enjoy!

showcase will include Graceful Degradation along with American Dali,

do your best to show up and support GD...we promise if we make it big,

Sunday, May 24th - Indie Music Phoenix Graceful
Degradation will be performing at the Indie Music Phoenix Sunday
Takeover this Sunday, at The Yucca Tap Room on May 24th at 5:00pm. What
is the Sunday Takeover you ask? Well...it's a TV show that airs every
Thursday at midnight and Saturday at 12:30am on AZTV 7/Cable 13. The
show features local indie bands around the valley and works a little
like American Idol, which means if you want to see Graceful D back on
the air waves, you'll need to show your support by either coming to the
live taping or voting online (you can register and vote online the
entire week of May 25th after our show is aired at www.indiemusicphoenix.com).
The
show isn't meant to be a battle of the bands,
however the bands that get the best response on the show both at the
venue and via online voting will be asked to come back on June 21th and
those that accept that invitation will get a chance at some modest
additional cash, studio recording time, and whatever else their
sponsors will give away. This show is primarily a way of showcasing
deserving
indie bands statewide while engaging fans of indie music in an
interactive way and getting them to support their bands without it
costing them a dime (there is no cover to see the taping). So come out
and see us Sunday at 5pm at the Yucca Tap Room, located at 29 W.
Southern in Tempe and celebrate Memorial Day weekend with Graceful

Casablanca Join Graceful Degradation Friday,August 31st at the Casablanca Nightclub and Lounge. We'll be taking thestage around 9:00pm. The Shallow Type, Shades of Silver, and Lori Bravo Raped are also scheduled to play and melt faces with their tasty licks!

Recently acquired by the former owner of the Emerald Lounge, the Ruby Roomis fast becoming the place to see awesome local bands.
